This Moodle allows biology students from Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach to collaborate with students from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology to collaborate on the PREP project sponsored by Virginia Tech. In the PREP project, researchers from Virginia Tech supply the schools with seeds that have been genetically altered as well as unaltered seeds. The students grow the seeds, collect data, and share their findings with the researchers.
Physics involves the study of properties and interactions of matter and energy through the topics of force and motion, work, heat, sound, light, electricity, magnetism, and physics applications in everyday activities.
AP Chemistry is the equivalent of a freshman college level course. The emphasis of this course is on theoretical topics and high-level critical thinking and analysis skills.
General Chemistry is one of the core SOL science courses available at Ocean Lakes High School. The course is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of both physical and chemical characteristics of matter. Throughout the course of their studies, students will also develop their science vocabulary and problem solving skills.
